KC Music Department to Hold Instrumental Concert March 4

​The Kaskaskia College Music Department will present its first concert of the New Year on Tuesday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jane Knight Auditorium. The concert will feature the Kaskaskia College Concert and Jazz Bands under the direction of Professor Cliff Jourdan. The concert will feature exciting selections for both ensembles.
 
Concert Band Highlights include:  “The Crosley March” by Henry Fillmore, “And Hope Led Them On – A Hero’s Journey” by Patrick Roszell and Justin Williams, Richard Saucedo’s “Along An English Countryside” dedicated to the Memory of Sir Malcolm Arnold, an Alfred Reed arrangement of Edward Elgar’s “Nimrod, and more.
Jazz Band Highlights include: Cole Porter’s “I Get a Kick Out of You”, “Django” by Mike Tomaro, “Blues In The Closet” by Oscar Pettiford, “Near You” as recorded by Spitfire and arranged by Dean Mounts”, and Cole Porter’s “Love For Sale” featuring Glenn Lewis on Flugelhorn and Trumpet.
The concert is free and open to the public with a reception immediately following for patrons and performers.
