Kaskaskia College is proud to announce that Professor Josh Woods of Breese was recently named the recipient of the 2013 Kaskaskia College Outstanding Faculty Award.
Woods has been a full-time professor for four years and has already made a large and valuable impact. He has been instrumental in the continued development of the transitional studies program and has worked closely with Title III in establishing learning communities and the Teachership Academy.
Josh’s passion in the classroom is unmatched and his teaching methods are designed to ensure student learning at all levels. He is innovative and creative with the use of technology and he truly motivates students. His dedication to ensuring the growth of students in developmental classes is inspiring.
Professor Woods has implemented the Visiting Writers Series and the First Short Fiction Writing Contest. He also sponsors the Kaskaskia College Writing Club. Through his service, he has brought unique opportunities for pursuing creative writing to many students, faculty and staff. Josh has also served on many committees and projects, including the AQIP Program.
Josh is truly student oriented and makes student learning the goal of everything he does as a faculty member. He has been a role model for his students and other faculty and we are proud to recognize him as the outstanding faculty member.
