Kaskaskia College is proud to announce that Candace Sloat of Salem was recently named the Kaskaskia College 2013 Part-Time Staff Member of the Year.
Candace has worked part-time in the Radiologic Department for six years. She was nominated for the award by the entire Radiology Team who says that “Candace has a positive attitude and is always willing to assist her fellow staff members and students”.
Candace is always willing to take on new challenges. She is eager to learn about the technology used on campus and has attended many Blackboard training sessions in her department.
Although Candace serves as the Radiology/Sonography assistant, she also helps teach labs and critiques for both programs and also lectured for Radiology when a full-time faculty member was on maternity leave. She remains organized and patient with every aspect of all five components of the program. Candace is a valuable asset to Kaskaskia College. Her supervisor says that “Candace helps us all to be successful by providing the highest quality educational standards in the imaging profession”.
Besides her work, Candace is an active member of her church and teaches Sunday School and also works part-time at St. Mary’s Hospital. She is married to Tony Sloat and is the mother of three children; Adia, Trey, and Sam and we are honored to have Candace as a member of the KC family.
