The Greenville Education Center located at 209 N. 3rd Street is scheduled for
completion in early March. The Center, approximately a 1.5 million dollar investment
in renovation and furnishing, is 10,320 remodeled square feet. This is approximately
five times the size of the current facility (2,133 square feet). The Greenville
Education Center has developed partnerships with Greenville College and the Workforce
Investment Board. Greenville College will house their GOAL program at the Greenville
Education Center. WIA will offer dislocated worker services at the center as
well.
The Center plans to increase programming opportunities in the areas of science, office
technology, general education, as well as Business & Industry courses, Continuing
education courses and certificates in the health occupations field, and community
education offerings. Residence of the Salem community can also expect increased
programming for the Senior’s College and KICK program. The Small Business Development
Center will have a presence at the new Salem Education Center. The floor plans
include three business incubator offices for area start-up companies to lease.
