Principles of Training
  1. Readiness – physiologically and psychologically ready for fitness program
  2. Adaptation – changes that take place in the body from training
    1. Patience is a must because the changes are subtle and take place over time
  3. Individual Response – people respond differently to training stimulus
    1. Heredity plays a factor
    2. Maturity or age
    3. Nutrition
    4. Rest & Sleep
    5. Level of Fitness – where your fitness level is currently
    6. Environmental influences – work, home, school influences
    7. Illness or Injury
    8. Motivation
  4. Overload – rate of improvement based on > F I T (frequency, intensity, time)

  10. Reversibility – longer to gain or make changes than it does to lose what you have worked for
