Graduating high school seniors ranking in the top 5% of their graduating class may be awarded a scholarship of up to $1,000 for attending a public Illinois college. Letters of eligibility will be sent from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. Checks will be issued to the student when funds are received by the institution.

This scholarship covers tuition for dependents of Illinois residents who were missing in action, prisoners of war, 100% service-connected disability rating from the VA, or died from a service connected disability arising out of active service in the Armed Forces. Applications are available in the Office of Financial Aid.

This award covers tuition for Illinois reservists on active duty who have served at least one year. A completed application must be submitted to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission for each academic year. An eligibility letter is mailed to the student by the state. The student must bring the letter to the Office of Financial Aid & Veterans’ Affairs. Tuition payments will not be processed until the original letter is on file in the Office of Financial Aid. Applications may be obtained by contacting ISAC or the Office of Financial Aid. Standards of Academic Progress must be maintained to receive the scholarship.

(Academic tuition waiver) This scholarship pays tuition for two academic years immediately following high school, including summer semester hours between and after the two academic years. Each in-district high school valedictorian, and salutatorian, or the next highest-ranking student(s) in the upper ¼ of his/her graduating class may apply. These scholarships waive tuition and fees for in-district students for two academic years contingent upon compliance with the established conditions of eligibility, and may include summer semester hours, between and after the two academic years. Approximately 150 scholarships are awarded each year to current Kaskaskia College students and entering freshmen by the Kaskaskia College Foundation. Many Foundation scholarships are based on academic merit. Community service and financial need may also be criteria. Application procedures are posted in late February and have an application deadline in late March. Most foundation scholarships for the following year are awarded in April. For information and an application, contact the Office of Financial Aid on the main campus. Recipients are notified by the Kaskaskia College Foundation Office.
