ACT & COMPASS® Placement TestsAll students must submit either ACT scores or COMPASS® Test scores prior to being eligible to enroll in an English or math course. Kaskaskia College accepts the ACT scores taken as part of the Prairie State Tests. Any new student who has not taken the ACT and who plans to enroll will be required to take the COMPASS® test prior to enrolling in English Composition 101 or any math course. The COMPASS® test and/or the ACT are also required for students seeking admission to special admission programs. There is no fee for the COMPASS® test, and tests are administered on the main campus as well as the Education Centers throughout the district. To be eligible for federal or state student financial aid programs, students who have not received a high school diploma or passed a GED test must take on Ability to Benefit Test before receiving financial aid. An Ability to Benefit Test passed with a certain score demonstrates students’ abilities to benefit from their chosen programs of study. The COMPASS® test is the Ability to Benefit Test at Kaskaskia College. Students who are pursuing either the Associate in Arts degree
or the Associate in Science degree must complete the Kaskaskia College
geometry requirements prior to graduation. Students must satisfy
one of the following requirements: Please check with an academic advisor if you have any questions. COMPASS® testing is available at each of the Education Centers
by appointment.
