Welcome to the Nail Technology Program

Kaskaskia College offers a superior program and students are required to complete 350 hours in the prescribed course of study to be eligible to take the state board exams and become a registered Nail Technologist.

The Nail Technology Program includes the study of manicuring; pedicuring; hand, arm, and foot massage; various nail technology procedures; product knowledge; nail fabric procedures; nail sculpting procedures; light and gel products for nails; and machine apparatus for Nail Technology.

Technical application and the use of chemicals in Nail Technology will also be discussed.

  • The Nail Technology field is expected to grow by 28% over the next several years.
  • The average pay rate for a Nail Technologist was $9.23 in 2006.
  • Many Nail Technologists decide to run their own Salon or Spa.
