Workplace & Supervisory Skill (LIBT-210)

Description: This course provides an overview of the principles and practices of library management and supervision. It explores basic concepts including employment laws, leadership qualities, cooperation and collaboration, staff recruitment and evaluation, resource and project management, fundraising, and marketing. Students will also gain an understanding of library policies and procedures, relationships with library governing boards, library vision, mission and goals, and leadership roles for LIBTs. Prerequisites: LIBT 120 (C or better), concurrent enrollment or consent of instructor.
