Greenhouse Operation (HORT-122)

2018 Spring 
Location: Main Campus

Description: The environmental factors manipulated within a greenhouse and how greenhouses are designed to control these factors will be introduced in this course. Greenhouses are used to produce a variety of crops such as potted flowering plants, bulbs, bedding plants, foliage plants, vegetables and cut flowers. Several types of cropping systems may be used in a greenhouse, for example: in-bed plantings, potted production and hydroponics. The topics of greenhouse design, heating and cooling, benching, lighting, irrigation and fertilization systems and greenhouse maintenance will also be covered in this course.
