Tutor Training III (VOCS-177)

Description:
This course will provide tutors with information designed to develop the skills needed to apply tutoring techniques to successfully model effective college engagement strategies to a college student. In this course, students will learn how to support targeted students and model successful engagement with the college. The skills addressed include but are not limited to, connecting tutoring techniques to basic mentoring principles, knowledge of college resources, confidentiality, effective listening and communication, and impact of diverse backgrounds. Prerequisite: Recommendation of mentoring coordinator.
