Respiratory Procedures III (RESP-115)

Description: This course provides the student with an in-depth understanding of airway pharmacology and general knowledge of the most common drugs used in the care of cardiopulmonary patients. All aspects of arterial blood gases will be covered which will include obtaining, analyzing & interpreting the results as well as blood gas analyzer function and the quality assurance standards for blood gas analyzers. Basic pulmonary function testing will be covered which will include basic spirometry & flow determinations with interpretation of the findings; equipment considerations will also be discussed. Prerequisite: Completion of first semester RESP courses.
