Description: This course is designed to acquaint students with community health and mental health nursing. The course will explore nursing of individuals and groups in home and community settings. Maintenance of health and prevention of disease will be stressed. Communicable disease control will be discussed. Basic concepts of mental health nursing are included. Students will be assigned to agencies in the community for clinical experiences. Quality experiences in nursing care of patients with mental health problems and developmental disabilities will be offered. Prerequisite: All previous PRNU equivalents. courses or equivalents.
