The 4th Rotary/Kaskaskia College Friends of the Fine Arts Scholarship Banquet was held Saturday,
March 21, 2009. The highlight performance featured Dean Christopher and the Rat Pack and More.
This was Dean and his band second appearance at Kaskaskia College. They were the final set in the
first Season of the KC Guest Artists and Speakers series. Additional pre-concert music was also
provided by the KC Jazz ensemble, under the direction of Professor Cliff Jourdan. Once again the
Kaskaskia College Culinary Arts Department under the direction of Clarke Griffin provided a wonderful
dinner.
A Silent and Oral Auction occurred throughout the evening and included unique and interesting pieces
of donated artwork from local artists, student art and various entertainment packages to include
dinners, theater and concert tickets. Proceeds from this event help finance Kaskaskia College Fine
and Performing Arts Scholarships and Enrichment Grants for the Fine and Performing Arts
Department.
