Kyle Gansauer
|
Kyle Gansauer, a 2005 KC graduate, is beginning his first season as head coach of the men's golf team.
Kyle is from Centralia and currently lives in Salem with his wife, Stephanie, and their Bassett Hound, Jack.
Kyle was a four-year varsity golfer at Centralia High School earning all-conference, all-region, and most valuable
golfer honors. While playing for the Blue Devils, Kyle qualified for the national championship in 2005; he also
earned medalist honors at the John A. Logan Invitational as well as the Kaskaskia College Invitational. After
graduating from KC, Kyle transferred to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he was named captain and
led the team to a berth in the national championship qualifier. At SIUE, Kyle earned all-conference honors and won
the 2005 NCAA Great Lakes Regional. He was named academic All- American and was also the recipient of the Cougar
Excellence Award, which is awarded to the male athlete with the highest grade point average at the University.
Kyle graduated SIUE with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics and Finance in 2007; he finished his
Master of Business Administration degree in 2011.
Gansauer is excited to lead the program after Coach Cooksey’s retirement. “Coach Cooksey laid a great foundation;
I am looking forward to advancing the KC golf program and giving District players an opportunity to play collegiate
golf while continuing their education at KC.”
